Thoughts becomes Things

I’m interpreting this beautiful quote by Roald Dahl as another argument for the power of the Law of Attraction. I watched The Secret back in 2006 when it came out. I was fascinated by the concept and was also sceptical at the same time. More than a decade later, I’m still fascinated by the concept.

It doesn’t matter whether you believe in Law of Attraction or not. Clarity in your thoughts and intentional actions are the keys to creating magic in your life.

Succeed at work, Win in Life

You want to succeed at work and win in life. – Michael Hyatt

This quote hit me hard when I heard it. Sometimes, I focus on things that are urgent and non-important and it gets too late when I start to focus on the important things that are usually non-urgent. This “Quadrant 2” lifestyle is where we thrive at work and at life. This is the life that we all yearn for and realise when it’s too late that we focused on stuff that was seldom important and usually urgent. Take a moment to ensure you are focusing on the right things/stuff …

Homo faber – Man the Maker

Day 2

Technology is the knack of so arranging the world that we don’t have to experience it. – Homo Faber, 1957, Man Frisch

Just thinking about the quote makes me realise how much technology dependent I have become and how it has made my life better and worse at the same time. One better thing is the ease of communication via texts, phone calls, video chats etc. And, this has also become a pain in the backside. People have lost the human connection of their voice and just being present in the time of need. Many of us think shooting a text on special occasions is enough. When will they realise they are dumb people with smarter phones?

New Year & New Beginnings

Day 1

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope your read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful and don’t forget to make some art – write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And, I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself. – Neil Gaiman

After careful consideration, I commit to myself and to Neil Gaiman; I will only do the below two things daily for the next 66 days as part of my #my66daychallenge.

  1. Read 25 pages a day.
  2. Do 1 deadlift a day.

Begin with End in Mind

It doesn’t matter where you start. It matters where you finish. – Zig Ziglar

Zig’s powerful words were summarised by Dr. Stephen Covey as his habit #2: Begin with End in Mind.

I know I’m kind of stretching the words a bit. I’m pretty sure if you think about it, you will agree that having an end in mind will definitely help you in taking the first step. No matter what, it’s not where you start; in order to reach your goal, you have to start somewhere. So, don’t hesitate, just take the first step now …

Simplify

That’s my ONE word for 2017. It took me quite a journey to come up with a word. I wanted to go for DECLUTTER but I felt it as a negative word. Probably, it’s not a negative word. For whatever reason, I just did not feel it in me. I searched the Internet for my one word that will represent intentional living and minimalism. I found it and it is SIMPLIFY.

Year End

Well well well! It’s that time of the year were people all around trying to make sense of the current year. Some may have lived a meaningful life. Some may have absolutely wasted their life. No matter which camp you fall, there’s always HOPE for everyone.

In this last few weeks of 2016, I will be reflecting upon my life and start creating an intentional plan for 2017. I encourage everyone to do the same.
