You want to succeed at work and win in life. – Michael Hyatt
This quote hit me hard when I heard it. Sometimes, I focus on things that are urgent and non-important and it gets too late when I start to focus on the important things that are usually non-urgent. This “Quadrant 2” lifestyle is where we thrive at work and at life. This is the life that we all yearn for and realise when it’s too late that we focused on stuff that was seldom important and usually urgent. Take a moment to ensure you are focusing on the right things/stuff …
Technology is the knack of so arranging the world that we don’t have to experience it. – Homo Faber, 1957, Man Frisch
Just thinking about the quote makes me realise how much technology dependent I have become and how it has made my life better and worse at the same time. One better thing is the ease of communication via texts, phone calls, video chats etc. And, this has also become a pain in the backside. People have lost the human connection of their voice and just being present in the time of need. Many of us think shooting a text on special occasions is enough. When will they realise they are dumb people with smarter phones?
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope your read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful and don’t forget to make some art – write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And, I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself. – Neil Gaiman
After careful consideration, I commit to myself and to Neil Gaiman; I will only do the below two things daily for the next 66 days as part of my #my66daychallenge.
- Read 25 pages a day.
- Do 1 deadlift a day.
